WBCS is proud to be a Milwaukee-based all-volunteer organization focused on funding early stage breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Through a number of fundraising events, including the annual Showhouse for a Cure, your generous donations are put to work right here in our community at MCW. Each year, generous homeowners donate their home and trust WBCS to work together with talented Milwaukee area designers to transform their home into a true showhouse. For the second year, Fringe is proud to announce that we will be participating in this year’s showhouse. We are very excited to see what all of the designers have in store! This year’s home has a fantastic foundation with beautiful architectural detail, making it easy for us to build our design scheme. You'll find us mornings on WITI Fox 6 as well as WISN 12! Accent walls continue to evolve. People often think accent walls are a bold color, different from the surrounding wall color. It's not as common to have one bright accent wall while leaving the rest white; the design is not so broken up anymore. At Fringe, we like to create a focal wall by selecting a deeper paint color and then lightening that color by about 30-50% and using it on the surrounding walls. And we don't stop there! "We've also been doing a lot of ceilings lately," Jessica explains in the article. "People are skeptical, (thinking) that a darker color can bring a ceiling down, but color up there can really warm the space up." The higher your ceiling is, the darker and more dramatic you can go. So what colors are on trend? Jessica says, "Grays are the hottest colors in paint right now; we painted our whole showroom Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter." Benjamin Moore offers such a wide variety of colors and numerous paint decks. That allows us as designers to have full access to every paint color imaginable, whether it's exterior or interior. They also offer many different varieties of paint to work with your budget. We purchase all of our Benjamin Moore paint from Village Ace in Glendale. Their staff is very knowledgeable and will help you choose the proper sheen for your project. To view the article featured in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Fresh section, please click here.
