Filling the Holiday Void
Is your home looking bare now that your holiday décor is down? Here are a few tips to soften some of the voids:
Where was your tree?
Front window: Does it feel like you’re living in a fish bowl after removing the tree? Adding window treatments such as panels or even a valance can not only introduce color and pattern, but it will also soften the harshness of the window. Have window treatments already? Try using this new space as an additional seating area. Consider adding a bench with arms or a small wood frame chair with a pillow.
Coffee and end tables looking sparse?
Now that the glitz and glam is put away until next season, it’s time to make those tables interesting again! Layer them up! Start by using a tray as an anchor piece and then layer the inside of the tray with small succulents, books, candleholders, flowers or decorative vases. You could also add that one show-stopping sculpture you love; I like to use skulls, tortoise shells or boxes.
