Which type of arm is right for you?

The track style arm is the most popular and represents a general trend of simplicity in home furnishings.  The track arm is defined by a flat top which can come all the way to the front of the sofa (forming a square cushion) or stop before the front (forming a 't" cushion).  Wide or narrow, the track arm is the most contemporary but is at home in many styles.  Rolled arms or English arms can be more traditional and mix well with existing pieces.  Tuxedo style arms (arm and back heights are the same) are classic and soften a contemporary look.

 
Sectional or sofa?  Which one is right for me?

Your space and the location of your TV will decide which is best suited for you.  Corner sectionals are perfectly suited for families.  Perhaps the hybrid design - a chaise-end sectional?  These can be great for watching TV and cuddling.  Do you entertain a lot?  Perhaps two sofas are better than a sectional for entertainers.  Either way, these pieces are big so measure, measure, measure!!!
 
I have kids and pets.  Which fabric should I choose?

There are many choices in very durable and cleanable fabrics suited for kids and pets.  Blended fabrics with polyester/rayon or acrylic/polyester/rayon are best.  Some super performance "kid-proof" fabrics are all polyester or acrylic Sunbrella indoor fabrics. Other fabrics boost cleanability with Crypton coatings from the health care industry. They are soft to the touch and good looking.

Foam or feather blend cushions?  Which are the best?

The most popular are cushions are actually both!!  Cushions built with sturdy foam centers wrapped with pockets of feathers provide structure and comfort at the same time.  Firmer, all foam cushions provide the most support but cannot be reshaped to new when they start to break-in.  Your back will tell you which cushions are right for you!
